Betty Jean Wharton, age 90, of Belleview, Florida passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024. She was born on July 14, 1934 in Chester County, Pennsylvania to the late Selmer Joseph and Emma Elizabeth (Hall) McElyea.
Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed growing vegetables in her garden, crafts, crocheting and arranging flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Wharton.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Katherian (Joshua) Wharton; grandson, Jeremiah (Ashley) Johnson; five great grandchildren; her best friend, Carmela and her six cherished cats.
A funeral service for Betty will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 South Pine Avenue, Ocala, Florida 34480. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Crum Cemetery, Southeast 47th Avenue, Summerfield, Florida 34491.
