Charles Edward Fletcher

He was born in Ludowici, Georgia, on July 19, 1941. His family later moved to Alachua and then to Leesburg, Florida, where he graduated from Leesburg High School.

Ed received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida, where he met his bride, Shirley Beasley. The two were married on August 7, 1965, and later moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where Ed earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Emory University.

Ed proudly served as a Captain in the United States Army before settling in Ocala, where he practiced dentistry alongside his brother for 42 years.

A devoted man of faith, Dr. Ed served as an elder at Maricamp Road Church of Christ, where he was a member for 52 years. He loved hunting, fishing, the Florida Gators, and most of all, Jesus and his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; his son Eric and wife Carmen, their children Claire and Connor; daughter Kristy and husband Stuart, their children Madison and her husband Garret, Chase and his wife Niomi, Bryce, Chad and Ashlyn; and his brother, Gerald and his wife Jeanette.

A viewing will be held Friday, September 18, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 5740 S. Pine Ave., Ocala, FL.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Maricamp Road Church of Christ, 2750 SE Maricamp Rd., Ocala, FL, on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
