My deepest love and prayers go out to the Byers family. Cornell was an amazing preacher and friend to our family and my mother Elder Renae Green they were on the battlefield for the Lord. The first time I met him I helped him. I was in high school. High school kids are crazy . The rough kids were ready to give him a hard time, but I warned CB and he handled it before it started. CB and I were friends instantly after that. Such a Godly person. I loved running into him and even got to meet his precious wife. CB will never be forgotten by me. I love him very much like a brother. His smile and kind words will always stay with me. I pray his family finds peace especially his wonderful wife. R.I.P my dear friend CB.

I am so very heart broken to hear about Cornell’s passing..he was the school bus driver for both my sister and I . Every time we seen him he was always dressed so nice and of course always had that beautiful smile. He was a beautiful person and will forever be in our hearts. RIP CB we love you,

Our hearts are saddened at the City of Refuge Church but at the same time we are rejoicing that Pastor Byers came into our lives. We know how much he loved and served the Lord. We enjoyed his musical talents and will not forget our friend and my husband’s best man. Prayers of comfort to the family.

To the Family of My Pastor Cornell Byers
Dear Mrs Byers and Family. I would like to give my heartfelt condolences to you. We loved Reverend Byers dearly. We will miss him and all that he did for the Vandalia Family. He was our leader for several years. He baptized my youngest daughter. I can remember her leaving messages when he first became our pastor he use to mention that she was the first one to welcome him to Vandalia. He was always smiling, caring and just an awesome Man of God. Our prayers are with you during this time of bereavement. We love you and are here for you all. God Bless you and your family.
