Dan received his Master Degree in civil engineering at the Technical University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest. He went on to have a career in civil engineering and automation and retired from Jacobs, a water utilities and management company in The Villages, FL.
He was an avid hunter and was proud of his NRA membership. His love for the outdoors extended to fishing, camping, and tending to his own vegetable garden.
Dan is preceded in death by his wife, Gabriela Orfescu. He is survived by his son, Nicholas Orfescu, and his brother, Cristian Orfescu.
