

David W. Donaldson LTC USAF (ret), 85, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 in Ocala. He served in the United States Air Force 42 years and was a Veteran of the Berlin Airlift and the Korean War. He was recognized as Airman of the year in 1964. While in the Air Force, David held every rank from Private to LT Col. As a result of his exceptional service he was appointed to the Air Force Reserve Policy Committee and was the only enlisted man serving on that committee. David was a Graduate of UF and member of the UF Football team and the Gator’s first bowl team in 1952, a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity, he served 2 terms on the Ocala City Council (one as President), was an avid participant in the local Tea Party and a 32nd degree Mason. He and his wife owned Jack and Jill Inc. and later, became Shaklee Independent Distributors in Ocala. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Reba Donaldson; his children; Archie W. Donaldson, AnnMarie O’Briant and husband Dr. Kevin, John D. Donaldson and wife JoAnne, and Daniel A. Donaldson, grandchildren; Brittany, Jensen, Madison, Rebecca, Laci, Whitni, Ashli, Haeli and Hunter, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm followed by a funeral service on Saturday, May 18, 2013, 10 am at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 S. Pine Ave. Ocala, FL 34480. Burial will be with Full Military Honors at Forest lawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to The Gideons at (615) 564-5000
