

Deborah Dawn Hunkapiller, known to family and friends as Debbie and lovingly called Gma, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16th. Born November 15, 1954, and raised in Islamorada, Florida. Debbie was the steady, warm heart of her family whose kindness and generosity touched everyone who knew her.

Life and Character
Debbie was widely remembered as a sweet soul—kind, caring, and always ready to give. She found joy in simple, meaningful pursuits: crafting beautiful keepsakes, traveling to new places with loved ones, and whenever she could, caring for others. Her home was a refuge of warmth and welcome, especially at Christmastime, when she made sure there was love, cheer, and a present for everyone under the tree.

Debbie is survived by her two daughters, Alicia Torres and Melissa Martinez; her sons in law, Dwight Torres and Pete Martinez; ten grandchildren: Cesar Hernandez (Caitlin); Cameron Hernandez (Bethany); Alexia Nicodemus (Gabriel); Christopher Torres; Andrea Torres; Issac Torres; Elias Torres; Kristen Cribelis (Jonathan); Julian Martinez; and Giada Martinez; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Connie Forth and brother Terry Forth.
