Don was appointed as a rural carrier in 1956 and received the 50 year Award Certificate in 2006 from the National Rural Letter Carriers Association. He spent 10 years on the Board of the Illinois Rural Letter Carriers Association, serving two years as President of the organization and one year as State Steward. In 1979 he was selected Outstanding Carrier and was honored at the 1980 convention in Wichita, Kansas. Mr. Warren spent two years as Editor of the state newspaper and received an award for outstanding work both years.
Mr. Warren and his wife, Dorothy retired to Florida where they enjoyed the sunshine and golfing. They had two daughters, Pamela and Vanessa and six grandchildren.
