Donald James Bolle

Don was born in East St. Louis, IL on August 4, 1929 to Fredrick and Loretta Jerome Bolle. He attended Broad Ripple HS and graduated in 1947. He attended Rose-Hulman in Indianapolis and was drafted into the Army, wanting to be a paratrooper, before he was honorably discharged shortly thereafter.

Don met his wife, Wanda at Allisions, his place of work. They married on October 12, 1952 in Martinsville IN, then moved to Carmel IN, where Brenda and Rick were both born. The family moved several times between IN, NJ, IL, and OH. Wanda passed on November 18, 2024. They had been married for 72 wonderful years.

Don worked his way up in his career from regional manager to President of Armour, which was later renamed SIA and finally SANCAP. After retiring he used his business relationships and started R&B Associates.

In 1964, Don and Wanda, along with 3 other couples, helped plant First Christian Church in Naperville, IL. Later in their marriage, they attended Mount Union Avenue Methodist Church in Alliance, OH. After many years in Alliance, they moved to Summerfield, FL, and moved one last time to Waterman Village.

Don loved to golf and he even had 2 hole-in-ones. Don was a Chicago Cubs fan, avid reader and loved cards and playing dominoes with friends. Yearly family vacations with Don’s brother (Fred & Marylou) and best friend (Dick and Miriam Clift) and their families were family highlights. Don was a wonderful and devoted husband, father and grandfather (Papa) to his family.

He is survived by Brenda Carothers and her husband, Marty. Rick and his wife, Alinda, with Grandsons, Tom and his wife, Ashley and Grant and his fiancée, Grace.

A celebration of life will be held at the Garden of Life Hall at Waterman Village in Mount Dora, FL on Tuesday October 21st at 10am.

The family wishes to extend our gratitude to the caregivers from Compassionate Connections Home Care and VITAS, both of which took such wonderful care of dad during his last couple of months.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial donations to Community Christian Church, (Front Porch Church-Rick Bolle) and mailed to Rick Bolle 1252 Redfield Rd. Naperville, IL 60563. Dad was extremely proud of Rick and Alinda for having the vision to start a new church designed for families with an all abilities family member.
