Donna June McGuire Tanner, 77, passed away September 19, 2025 in Ocala, Florida following a short illness. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 am this Thursday September 25, 2025 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 5740 S. Pine Avenue, Ocala, Florida 34480 followed by internment.
Mrs. Tanner was born on October 7, 1947 in Charleston, West Virginia to Basil and Rachel McGuire. She was an author and had hundreds of short stories and writing awards throughout her life. She also was a real estate associate. She married Donald Ray Tanner on March 20, 1971. She is survived by her husband and daughter, Vivia Massey and son, Donnie Rae Tanner. She is also survived by brothers Randy Eugene McGuire of Oak Hill, WV, Terry Lynn McGuire of Fayetteville, WV, Johnny McGuire, sisters Brenda Gay McGuire Hicks of Franklin, NC, Jane McGuire Miller of Warrenton, GA, Belinda McGuire, and grandchildren Brenden Tanner, Kaley-Anne Tanner, Leia Tanner, Brittany Tanner, Jaqueline Tanner, and Nicole Tanner. She is preceded in death by brothers Danny Richard McGuire and Jackie Lee McGuire.
