November 5th, 1937 – October 16th, 2025
Elizabeth Ann Halle’, known to most as “Betty”, and to those who felt her kindness as simply “mom”, passed away peacefully at home on October 16th, 2025 at the age of 87. She felt this world the way she lived in it – surrounded by love holding the hand of her beloved husband of 65 years Roland.
Betty had a gift of making beauty wherever she went. Her green thumb could coax life from the most stubborn plant, and her yard & home were always filled with flowers that seemed to bloom a little brighter under her care. She expressed her love through her hands – whether it was cross stitching heart felt gifts, cooking meals from scratch, or working in the yard. If it was made with love, Betty made it look easy.
She was a woman who knew how to enjoy life’s simple pleasures. You could find her looking for treasures at craft fairs and thrift stores, staying active at To Your Health Spa, or spending time outdoors camping, fishing, walking the beach, or enjoying a good old-fashioned picnic. Betty believed that the best moments in life didn’t cost much, they just required paying attention.
Though dementia clouded her recent years, the love story between betty and Roland remained crystal clear after 65 years of marriage. They still held hands like newlyweds. Their devotion to each other, his tender care for her & her enduring love, as a testimony to what “in sickness and in health” really means. In her final years her daughter Rosemary moved home to help care for Betty full time, and both Rosemary and Michael remained devoted to their mother, ensuring she was surrounded by love every single day. Mom wasn’t just a mother to them- she was their best friend.
Betty is survived by her devoted husband Roland E. Halle’, her daughter Rosemary Halle’, her son Michael Halle’ (both of Summerfield, FL), her sister Kathleen Carey Senacal (of Springfield, MA), her sister-in-law Beverly Carey, and a host of nieces and nephews – too many to list individually but each one held a special place in her heart. She also leaves behind her faithful companions Daisy and Sam who surely miss her spoiling them with treats.
She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Carey, her father Bernard Carey, her brother William Carey, and her brother-in-law Richard Senecal.
Betty lived a full life rich with handmade gifts, homegrown tomatoes, sandy feet, and endless love. She taught us that the most important things in life aren’t things at all – they’re the people you love and the moments you share with them.
Betty will be cremated, and services will be kept small and simple as she would have wanted. Details will be shared with family.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Dementia Society of America in Betty’s memory. To keep mom’s spirit alive and honor her for nature, we simply ask that you take a moment of silence and plant a tree in her name.
Rest easy mom, Dad’s still holding your hand.
She will be deeply missed.
Elizabeth “Betty” Halle’
Taking one step at a time, lean on Dad and Michael, we are all in this together.
