Evelyn E Tucker

Born February 3, 1926 in Starke, Florida to Theodore Carl Edwards and Leona Crews Edwards passed away on November 28, 2015. A devout Christian and a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala Evelyn loved the Lord and lived her life daily reflecting her Christian faith.

Evelyn retired from Sprint Telephone Co. in 1988 and enjoyed retirement life to the fullest. She loved to cruise but her most loved travels was with the First Baptist Church Forever Young Group. It was always a joke within the family that if the church bus cranked up for a trip Gran was on it. She never hesitated to share her wonderful memories of her travels with the church.

Residing the past two and half years with her son and daughter in-law she loved the daily activities of attending the Blessed Trinity Elder Care from which she gained many friends and stayed active. But her greatest love was seeing almost daily her grandchildren and great grandchildren that would come to visit her and come running in saying Gran and giving her a hug. This always brought a smile and she loved hearing the stories they would tell of their day in school. She loved the activities of friends and loved ones coming to watch football particularly the Gator Football games. She said it kept her young.

Preceding Evelyn in death was two sons Bryant W. Tucker Jr. and Ronald C. Tucker. Her Sister Edna Wainwright and brother Carl (Buddy) Edwards. Surviving family members are her loving and caring son Donald Carl Tucker and daughter in-law Diane Tucker, daughter Barbara Pesola, Sister Bea Hildreth, nine grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Baptist Church Ocala Forever Young Group.

Services to be held: Viewing on Wednesday December 2, 2015 from 4 – 7 pm and Celebration of Life Thursday December 3, 2015 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 S. Pine Ave, Ocala FL
