

On December 14, 1957, he married the love of his life, Araminta Rivera, beginning a devoted marriage filled with enduring love, partnership, and cherished memories. Together they built a beautiful family that remained the center of his world throughout his life.
German dedicated much of his career to the hospitality industry and was widely known as the owner and operator of Ocala’s beloved “Sunrise Restaurant,” where he welcomed countless guests with warmth, kindness, and a strong work ethic. His presence and generosity left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A faithful servant of God, German was a devoted member of Iglesia Bautista Peñiel, where he faithfully served as a Deacon for many years. His faith guided every aspect of his life and was reflected in the compassion and love he showed to others.
German had a deep passion for God, his family, the mountains, hiking, yardwork, cooking, and spending time at the beach. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures and treasured every moment shared with those he loved.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Araminta; his sons, Herman (Deb) Rivera Jr and Erwin (Gayle) Rivera; his daughter, Wendy Brooks; his cherished grandchildren, Bethany (Corry) Locke, Daniel (Jonsie) Rivera, Dylan Rivera, Tiffany Brooks, Brandon Brooks, Olivia (Kyle) Larsen, and Autumn Rivera; and his beloved great grandchildren, Dayne and Elliana. He is also survived by his older sister, Antonia Rivera Velez, and his younger sister, Maria Rivera Velez, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
German will be remembered for his unwavering faith, loving spirit, wisdom, and the kindness he extended to everyone around him. His legacy of love, devotion, and family will continue to live on through all who were blessed to know him.
