Howard Arthur Pruitt

On January 21, 2025, Howard Pruitt, 84 of Ocala, took his final rest. Howard overcame childhood polio as he entered into a 33-year career- from bus washer to electronics technician- with the Marion County Public School System. He exhibited overwhelming commitment with the school systems and finally retired after twenty years.

Howard “Hap” demonstrated the perfection of fatherhood as he raised four children; Howard “Lee” Jr., Lesa, Ronald and William “Bill” who will truly miss him. This wonderful father had a love for being a private pilot and avid scuba diver master as he provided free lessons. Howard also was credited the opportunity to have up to 300 jumps under his wings.

Howard Pruitt is now asking us to maintain our sadness and not cry because he will be there to welcome everyone as they enter into the sweet by and by. He leaves behind his beautiful, lovely wife, Shirley Pruitt to cherish his memories; three sons, Howard Pruitt Jr., William Warrick and Ronald Warrick. He has one beautiful daughter Lesa Pruitt-Patel. He also leaves behind a very special relative, Michael Baker; three daughter-in-laws, five grandchildren, five great- grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends
