She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Jesus Arnaldo Groullon, on April 25, 1987. Together, they built a life centered on care, commitment, and family.
Ilda devoted much of her professional life to the field of mental health, working at the Long Island Developmental Center. Her work reflected her compassionate nature and her desire to help others, leaving a lasting impact on those she served.
Outside of her career, Ilda found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. She loved cooking and sewing, enjoyed science fiction, and most of all cherished the time she spent with her family. Her home was a place of warmth, where love was always present and shared freely.
She is survived by her loving children: Eddie Santiago, Maria Santiago, Debra Santiago, Samuel Diaz, and Ilda Y. Groullon. She was preceded in death by her son, Rafael Santiago. She also leaves behind a large and loving legacy of 23 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Her legacy lives on through her family, who will continue to honor her memory and the values she instilled in them.
Ilda will be remembered for her strength, her caring spirit, and the deep love she had for those around her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
