

Floyd was a proud retired member of the United States Navy, dedicating over 20 years of service to his country. He was known for his unwavering commitment, courage, and the strong values he instilled in those around him. After his military career, Floyd continued to serve his community, becoming an active volunteer with his local church by visiting the sick and shut in, and being a prayer warrior.
Born on June 5, 1941, in Jacksonville, Florida, Floyd was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Dycus, his children, Dean (Kim) Dycus, Timothy (Cindy) Dycus, Richard (Mitra) Dycus, Brenda (Kevin) Morrill, Danielle Riggins, Tiffany (Chris) Michal, his step children, Melia (Steve) Leisten, and Michael (Sarah) Panilo, his cherished sister, Beverly Cobb, and numerous grandchildren and cousins who will miss his warmth and kindness.
Floyd was preceded in death by his mother Eva Dycus, his father James Floyd Dycus, Sr., and his daughter Nannette Dycus, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Floyd’s wisdom and spirituality touched the lives of many. He had a passion for God. He would dedicate time each day for prayer, interceding for the needs of others; friends, family, and even strangers. His prayers were heartfelt and sincere, reflecting a genuine desire for the well-being of those he would lift up. His words carried wisdom, often rooted in scripture, and he inspired through his example of love, patience, and service. He was a man of unwavering faith.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, 11:00 am at Ocala-Marion County Veterans Memorial Park, 2601 SE Fort King St., Ocala, FL. 34470. Reception immediately to follow.
He will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.
