James Daniel Comer, Jr., age 86, of Ocala passed away October 19, 2013 at Legacy House. He was born on January 28, 1927 in East Orange, NJ a son to the late James Daniel and Esther M. (Kreutz) Comer, Sr. He served in the US Navy during WWII on a sub chaser in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Patrol Craft Sailors of America and also the American Legion. He moved to Florida in the 1970’s and built Imeson Distribution Center in Jacksonville and after retiring moved to Ocala in 2005. He belonged to the Oakwood Baptist Church, Jasmine Plaza and enjoyed studying the Civil War and was an avid collector of LAKAWANNA Train memorabilia. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 13 years Juanita, a son Mark (Pamela) James Comer of Jacksonville, FL and grandchildren Baylee and Brooks Comer. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 27th following the morning service at 11:45AM. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to Legacy House, Hospice of Marion County.
