James Raymond George, 74, went home to be with his Savior on 10/12/19 in Ocala, FL. He was a Vietnam army veteran & an avid Bible scholar. An entrepreneur & hard-working telecommunications business owner, he was a humble man daily digging ditches beside his employees. A selfless giver, Jim was most known for his love of others. He always had an infectious smile & loved to make people laugh. A man of deep faith who taught Sunday school at his church of 35 years, Jim loved gospel hymns & to tell others about his Lord.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Brenda, and his daughters, Amanda Coker, Melissa George, & Jennifer George, as well as his 3 grandchildren: Eliott & Zoe Coker and Skylar George.

Services will be held on October 19, 2019 at 1:00pm at Trinity Baptist Church with viewing from noon to 1:00pm.

Our hearts are broken over the loss of such a great friend. Jim, was always there to listen, help, advise and pray for his friends and family. He had a heart filled with love for others and God. He freely shared his knowledge of the cable industry and his faith. We will miss him.

We extend our love, prayers and sympathy to the family and many friends.

Jim George

I have not written anything yet as I as still stunned by his passing. I know he is in a better place and that makes me feel good. I will miss everything about him and I hope his wife and daughters get through this trying time in good fashion.

Jim was very helpful and a great sounding board in everything cable for me. I appreciate and will miss his upbeat and optimistic conversations. A man of God to the end and without a doubt "The Cable Guy"!

Jim and I were friends for over 40 years. Jim was one of the first people I would look for every year at the SCTE. I was able to sponsor Jim for induction into the Cable TV Pioneers, it was an honor, he certainly deserved.

He will be missed not only by you his family but by all of the many friends and colleagues he had in the cable industry.

The words of a great song reflect my feelings at this time and i hope that the message and thought behind the words will give you some peace at this difficult time in your life.

1 God be with you till we meet again,
By His counsels guide, uphold you,
With His sheep securely fold you,
God be with you till we meet again.
Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

2 God be with you till we meet again,
’Neath His wings protecting hide you,
Daily manna still divide you,
God be with you till we meet again.
Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

3 God be with you till we meet again,
When life’s perils thick confound you,
Put His arms unfailing round you,
God be with you till we meet again.
Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

4 God be with you till we meet again,
Keep love’s banner floating o’er you,
Smite death’s threatening wave before you,
God be with you till we meet again.
Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus’ feet;
Till we meet, till we meet,
God be with you till we meet again.

My prayers are with you and your family

I beleive one of my fondest memories was when Jenny and I were still in high school. My dad had taken us snowboarding for the first half of break and then Jim took us to a few different cities including New Orleans and somewhere in Alabama for some cable conventions he was attending. The three of us had so much fun! I also always loved special ocassions in the George house. That meant great food..i still think of him whenever i eat grapeleaves and still think his are better. My mom told me just the otherday about how she still remembers like yesterday the neighbors coming over when i was a baby with their 3 little girls to visit, who knew that was a start of lifelong friendships for the families. After 35 years i could probably write a book of memories! All my love to the family!

Jim, kept me on my toes. He had a drive and a follow-thru that made you appreciate him so much. He was always thoughtful to share personal moments with you even when discussing business. He was someone that truly cared. I already miss you Jim! Thanks for some good memories.

I have known Jim since 1984 when I was a young pup starting out in the cable television industry. I followed Jim's career for many years. He was a friend, a customer and a mentor to me. Jim will be greatly missed. I never saw him without a smile or a subtle joke.
