James (Jim, "Moe") Patrick Moellentine passed away on, July 8, 2024, at the age of 78 in Hospice of Medina County, Ohio, after more than a year-long battle with pleural mesothelioma cancer. He was born on February 22nd, 1946, in Chicago Illinois, and raised in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He was a resident of Strongsville, Ohio, since November of 2020. Prior to moving to Strongsville, he was a resident of Ocala, Florida for 40 years.
Jim was married to Shirley, his loving wife for 50 years. They have one child, Jamie, who he loved dearly. He retired in 2011 in Ocala, Florida, after 25 years as a successful Snap-On Tool franchise owner. Prior to joining Snap-On, he was the Field Service Manager for Pall Pneumatic Products in Ocala. He was well respected, admired, and liked by his co-workers and customers throughout his career.
He served in the US Navy from 1964-1971 and was an accomplished machinist mate and engine-room supervisor on the USS Nathan Hale (SSBN-623), one of the " 41 For Freedom" Fleet Ballistic Missile Polaris Submarines.
From an early age, he was a motorcycle and car enthusiast, and he especially loved working on his many "street-rod" projects, his '53 Willys Aero Lark his crowning glory.
His quick wit, incredible sense of humor and gleeful storytelling will be sorely missed by all.
Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley, his daughter, Jamie, his brother, Lon (Morley), his sister, Nancy (Clayton), his brother-in-law, Robert Broome.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence, his mother, Elizabeth, his sister, Kathleen Klein Dion, his father-in-law and mother-in- law, Grant and Betty Broome, and his sister-in-law Lynda Broome.
