Marie Ann Andrelina Rosemond-Thornhill

Marie was born in Léogâne, Haiti on June 3, 1938. She graduated from Lycee du Cent-Cinquentenaire in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and later married Eric Thornhill on August 15, 1992. She worked for ARC, the center for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Later, she held a career in home health as a caregiver.

Marie enjoyed a good laugh with friends and family, but her family meant the world to her. She enjoyed watching television, especially TV Land and the Golden Girls. She also enjoyed reading Italian and Roman history books and listening to a variety of music including classical, 80's, and especially her favorite singer, Nana Mouskouri. Typically on Friday's and Saturday's, you would find her hunting for a good garage sale or antiques shop with her oldest daughter, Michelle. After a long day of bargain hunting, Marie would enjoy a tasty meal from a variety of restaurants. She later discovered the cooking of her son in law, Robert, and decided she was wasting money on eating out.

She is survived by her children, Gabriel Rosemond (Esther), Michelle Rosemond McGill, Maureen Rosemond-Shuler-Gibson (Robert), and Farrah Rosemond; grandchildren, Jessica Melendez (Shawn Robinson), Keisha Shuler, Nathaniel Shuler, Jr., Anthony Shuler, Kandra Galloway (Mark, Jr.), Matthew Simon, Zaheim McGill, Julian Shuler, Ebony McGill, and Wilmene Rosemond; and great grandchildren, Angel, Elysia, Elijah, Selena, Kamara, Mark III, and Karter.

A visitation for Marie will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. A funeral service will occur from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a committal at 1:00 PM. All services will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memory Gardens, 5740 South Pine Ave, Ocala, FL 34480.
