

Marilyn Curran (90) of Ocala, FL passed away on Dec. 3, 2025. Marilyn was born on Jan. 26, 1935 in Binghamton, NY to Stanley and Pauline Ellsworth. She is survived by her children Theresa, William, Kathy, Jim, Chris, and Susan. Grandchildren; Mary, Tommy, Dylan, Chrissy, William, Michael, Rhena, Maya, Sarah, Joseph, Delaney, and Ryan. Great-grandchildren; Ashton, Naomi, Nicholas, Issac, and Thomas. Brothers; Kevin and David Ellsworth. She was preceded in death by James Curran (husband), Robert Curran (son), Kathy and Marjorie (sisters), and Haley Curran (grand-daughter).
From Binghamton, Jim and Marilyn moved to Modesto, California to the Virgin Islands to Canton, NY before finally settling in Ocala where they raised their seven children. Marilyn was the Director of Nursing in Canton, NY and Ocala before opening up the first Assisted Living Facility, The Retreat, in Marion County. In 1981, Marilyn helped found the first Hospice in Marion County. Marilyn was an active parishioner at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and with the Ministry of the Sick. Marilyn was a spunky, color-clad lady, was loved and adored, and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
The funeral service will be held at 12:30pm on Dec. 16th at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church 5 SE 17th St Ocala, FL 34471. The funeral service will be live streamed at blessedtrinity.org
