Today, we gather to honor the life of an incredible woman, my birth mother. Though she made the difficult decision to place me up for adoption, she did so out of a love, hope and a desire for me to be raised by loving parents in a Christian family. That act of selflessness has shaped my life, and I will forever be grateful for her courage and love to choose LIFE.

Over the past 20 years, I have been blessed to know her, to call her Mom and to experience the deep love she always had for me. Through the love, commitment and desire that my birth sister Diana had shown, she was able to reach out across time, despite the odds, to reconnect me with Marjorie and with open arms she accepted me into her life so many years later which was a testament to her faith, her strength, and her love for me.

She was a woman of unwavering faith, and I take great comfort in the promises of Jesus Christ, who said in John 14:2-3, “In my Fathers house are many mansions. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am, you may be also.”

I know my mother is now in one of those rooms, resting in the arms of our Savior. She believed deeply in the eternal love of Jesus Christ, and that same love gives us the assurance that this goodbye is only temporary. One day, we will be reunited in His presence, where there will be no more tears, no more separation only joy.

To my mother, thank you for giving me life and for loving me fiercely, even from afar. Thank you for finding me, for showing me what grace and forgiveness look like, and for reminding me about the unconditional love of Jesus Christ . Your love has left an indelible mark on my heart, and I will carry it with me always.

Until we meet again, may you rest in the peace of Christs love.

I love you Mom! I'm going to miss your kisses and hugs the most! You were my best friend and I could tell you anything and you were always there to listen! I know your with everybody that you missed threw the years that have passed on and what a reunion it was for you. I love you until I see you again.

Well Mom, The Bus you were waiting for has finally come. Not sad that you wanted to see your girls, Becky, Sherri, Connie and Barb. Gramma had the coffee waiting, I'm  sure.
