Phyllis Ann Ray

Phyllis Ann Fields, (Julia Deveraux), born January 5, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio went to her Heavenly home in the early hours of September 6, 2026, in Mt. Dora, Florida. She was 81. She was a Baptist; believing in Jesus Christ as her Savior.

She was raised in Kentucky, with her sister, Vivian and brother Steve, by their loving mother, Edith Marie. At the age of 15, she met and married Ogale “Randy” Ray in 1960. They traveled with the Army, from coast to coast, before settling in Central Florida. They welcomed 3 daughters, Cynthia Ray (Talley), Rhonda Ray (Libby) and Melissa Ray (Stepp). They shared 22 years of marriage and a lifetime of care for one another. They were blessed with grandchildren, Christopher, Crystal and Phillip Wallace (Rhonda), Kira Talley Chesser (Cynthia), Kyle, Nicholas and Chelsea Wilkins (Melissa). Continually blessed, they received several great-grandchildren.

Phyllis enjoyed cake decorating and made cakes for every occasion. When her children were a little older, she earned her high school diploma and continued her education to earn her LPN Nursing degree. She worked at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Her family was very proud!

She took delight in spending time with her family, making crafts, watching Kentucky “Wildcats” basketball, Kansas City Chiefs football, and especially cooking. She was a big kid at heart. She enjoyed ice cold Coca Cola or a fresh hot coffee and eating great food.
