Ramon Antonio Hernandez

Ramon married the love of his life, Antonia, on December 7, 1963. Together, they built a beautiful family and life rooted in faith, love, and hard work.

Ramon was retired and found great joy in growing his own crops. He enjoyed growing yuca, batata, gandules, squash, yams, lettuce, and green peas. When he wasn’t tending to his crops, you could find him playing dominoes, snacking on his favorite crackers and Casava, or deeply engaged in the latest updates from the Weather Channel and nightly news. A devoted churchgoer, Ramon’s faith was a guiding light throughout his life.

He is survived by his beloved wife Antonia, four children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly and carry on his legacy with love.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 South Pine Avenue, Ocala, FL 34480. A funeral Mass will occur on Monday, June 9 at noon at St. Jude Catholic Church, 443 Marion Oaks Drive, Ocala, FL 34473. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.

Ramon Antonio Hernandez, de 96 años, residente de Ocala, Florida, falleció en paz el 4 de junio de 2025. Nació el 12 de mayo de 1929 en Los Ranchos de Babosico, República Dominicana.

Ramon se casó con el amor de su vida, Antonia, el 7 de diciembre de 1963. Juntos construyeron una hermosa familia y una vida basada en la fe, el amor y el trabajo duro.

Ramon estaba retirado y encontraba gran alegría en trabajar en su conuco, cultivando sus propios alimentos. Le encantaba sembrar yuca, batata, gandules, calabaza, ñame, lechuga y guisantes verdes. Cuando no estaba en su conuco, se le podía encontrar jugando dominó, comiendo sus galletitas favoritas y casabe, o muy atento a las noticias y al canal del clima. Fue un devoto asistente a la iglesia, y su fe fue una luz que lo guió a lo largo de su vida.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa Antonia, sus cuatro hijos, doce nietos y dos bisnietos, quienes lo extrañarán profundamente y continuarán su legado con amor.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el domingo 8 de junio de 2025, de 5:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m. en Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 South Pine Avenue, Ocala, FL 34480. La misa funeral se celebrará el lunes 9 de junio al mediodía en St. Jude Catholic Church, 443 Marion Oaks Drive, Ocala, FL 34473. El entierro se realizará a la 1:30 p.m. en Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
