Ruby Carey Parker

Ruby Carey Parker, age 86, of Ocala passed away February 18, 2014 at Munroe Regional Medical Center. She was born on February 25, 2014 in Key West, FL a daughter to the late Henry Lee and Annie (Griffin) Carey. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Parker, Sr. Ruby was a volunteer for over 28 years at Munroe Regional and put in 18,134 hours of volunteer work. She truly loved her volunteer work in the maternity unit helping the newborn babies and mothers. She was also remembered for her enjoyment of needlepoint, gardening, and cooking and was a member of the Ocala Women’s Club serving as past president of the club. She will be dearly missed by her son Kenneth Parker, Jr. of Ocala. Funeral services are planned for Tuesday February 25, at 1:00pm with an hour visitation before at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. A reception will follow in at MRMC in the Auxiliary Conference Center from 2-3pm, 1542 SW 1st Ave, family and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers the family asks donation be made to the Munroe Regional Auxiliary for Healthy Children.
