

Born on January 29, 1935, in Basseterre, St. Kitts, Veronica lived a life defined by grace, devotion, and quiet strength. She received her early education in St. Kitts, completing her sixth form at Upper School, and furthered her studies with college credits from Cambridge University in England. Veronica was a devoted and practicing Roman Catholic, even learning Latin, and almost became a Nun.
On August 10, 1961, Veronica was united in marriage to the love of her life, Rudolph Sherriff. Together they built a life grounded in love, faith, and family. Rudolph preceded her in death, and their enduring bond remains a testament to a lifetime of shared devotion.
Veronica dedicated much of her professional life to education and finance. She worked at a high school in Basseterre, St. Kitts, and also contributed her talents to a sugar factory in St. Kitts. Her work reflected her diligence, intelligence, and commitment to her community.
A woman of many passions, Veronica found great joy in gardening, cooking, playing bingo, reading, and traveling by train, where she delighted in observing the beauty of the landscape. She was an active member of the University Garden Club in Ocala, Florida, where she shared her love for nature and fellowship with others.
Veronica is lovingly survived by her daughter, Charmaine Sherriff-Wilson. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Sherriff. She leaves behind a cherished legacy in her grandchildren: Tiara Haylock (James), Sadé Sherriff, Kirk Wilson (Elise), and Stephen Sherriff, Jr., as well as her great-grandchildren, Noah Haylock and Elijah Haylock. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Acheson Wilson and daughter-in-law, Shindy Gill. She was preceded in death by her siblings Lillian and Laura.
Her warmth, wisdom, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Veronica’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, resilience, and grace. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
