Vinson C. Smith, age 97, of Ocala died Saturday December 31, 2011 at Estelle’s Hospice House. He was born on November 26, 1914 in Marlboro, Mass. Mr. Smith was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and received both a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service. He was also a past member of the American Legion, the VFW and the Moose. Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law Stephen and Susan Smith of Ocala, Mark Smith of Taunton, Mass., two daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Al Rounds of Taunton, Mass., Meg and Mike Hackett of Palmetto, FL., seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family suggests donations to Hospice of Marion County. Forest Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
