

Winsome was born on April 1, 1958, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Allan and Myrtle Dillon. She was a woman of strong faith, deep compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
She graduated from Orville Platt High School and continued her pursuit of education with determination and excellence. Winsome earned her master’s degree from Saint Leo University and later achieved her Doctorate from Christian Leadership University, reflecting her lifelong commitment to learning and leadership.
On December 29, 1990, Winsome was united in marriage to her devoted husband, Darrel Jacobs. Together they built a legacy grounded in love, faith, and family.
Professionally, Winsome served with distinction as the Director of Information Technology for the City of Ocala, where her leadership, expertise, and professionalism left a lasting impact. Beyond her career, she was deeply involved in community and ministry work. She faithfully served as President of Women’s Aglow and Treasurer of the Marion Oaks Civic Association.
Winsome had a beautiful passion for gardening and found great joy in teaching the Word of God. Her life was a testimony of service, wisdom, and love for others.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her beloved children: Devonna Bervine; Yashan Clark; Shayna Colyer (Henry Colyer); Devin Jacobs (Brittany Jacobs); Naysha Clark; Darin Jacobs (Thomasina Jacobs); Devita Jacobs; and Shraig Owen.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to: Nailah Lawson, Nia Lawson, Kiayana Clark, Kayla Clark, Kameron Clark, Kiayara Clark, Laila Mincy, Nasira McMiller, Robert Williams, D'Andre Clark, Taylor Jacobs, Devin Jacobs Jr., Amiah Jacobs, Calaiah Jacobs, Ezariah Jacobs, Dalil Carr, Dakari Carr, Jasir Palmer, Hannah Cummings, and Baylin Cummings. She was also a great grandmother to: Arya Williams, Elia Williams, Nahja Clark
Winsome is also survived by her loving siblings: Yvonne Lane (James Lane), Carrol Dillon-Smith, Rosemarie Cannon, Lennox Dillon, Donovan Dillon, Michelle Thomas (Odee Thomas), and Kyla Freeny (Michael Freeny).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allan and Myrtle Dillon; her grandson Antwan Williams, her sister, Faith Dillon; and her brothers-in-law, James Cannon and Larry Smith.
Winsome Jacobs will be remembered for her grace, strength, faith, and the many lives she touched. Her legacy of love and service will live on in all who knew her
