

Arnold graduated from Asbury Park High School in 1957 at the age of 15. He continued his education and graduated from Rutgers University and Seton Hall Law School. He practiced law in Monmouth County for over 47 years. During this time, he held a variety of positions such as Assistant Prosecutor, Monmouth County, from 1968 through 1970, Monmouth County Ethics Committee and the Supreme Court Committee on the Unauthorized Practice of Law which he chaired for approximately 15 years. In 1971, he was elected the first Democratic Councilman in West Long Branch in 40 years. He went on to be appointed the Municipal Court Judge there. Arnold was a proud and involved graduate of Rutgers University. He served as a class officer for the class of 1961 and recently volunteered on the committee for his 50th reunion.
Arnold is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Rita, three children who were the pride of his life: Laura (Larry) Shapiro, West Long Branch, NJ, Julie (Frank) Manley, Sanford, MI, and Susan (Christopher) Koegel, Winchester, MA. and five amazing grand-daughters Jaclyn and Sydney Shapiro, Kayla and Kassidy Manley and Shelby Koegel. In addition, he is survived by his two brothers Lewis Levin, Barnegat, NJ, and Levi Lehv, Monsey, NY.
The funeral will be held at the Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapel, 2130 Kings Highway (Route 35), Ocean, NJ on Friday, January 24, 2014, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in his honor to Meridian Hospice, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center or a charity of your choice.
