Barbara was born on February 2, 1929 in Horedenka, Poland to loving parents, Rose and Chaim Margulies. As a young girl, WWII interrupted Barbara’s happy childhood, where she spent two years hiding from the Nazi’s with her Mother, Rose, her brother, Marvin and her Uncle, Leon Diener. Tragically her father, Chaim, and older brother, Abraham, were killed during the Holocaust. After the war, Barbara met her first husband, Mark. They moved to Germany where her son, Irv was born in 1948. In 1950, she traveled by ship to the United States with her Mother, husband and son, settling in Newark, NJ, where her twin daughters, Carol and Ruth, were born in 1951. While living in Newark, she raised her adoring family while splitting her time helping her husband run his small retail business. In 1960 she and her family moved to Union, NJ where she resided until 1981. At that time, she married her second husband, Eli Bobrow, and became stepmother to his adult son, Lance. She and Eli relocated to Linden, NJ. Barbara was a successful businesswoman, owning a ladies’ retail clothing store in Roselle, NJ called Bobbie Shop. Bobbie Shop was one of the first retail stores to open on New Year’s Day which was an overwhelming hit with customers. Bobbie Shop’s name was changed to Finder’s Keepers, which was part of a large chain of ladies clothing stores throughout NJ. Finders Keepers later relocated to Linden, NJ. During those years of owning successful businesses, Barbara continued to raise her family, managing to devote her time to both. Everyone who knew Barbara loved her. Her joy was feeding her family, always putting them first. As loving as she was, she was just as strong, and never lost her sense of humor. For the past five years, Barbara resided at Seabrook Retirement Community in Tinton Falls, NJ, where she enjoyed having friends and family visit and taking walks around the beautiful grounds.
