

Burton Morachnick of Ocean, NJ passed away peacefully on November 10th in Red Bank, NJ. Burt was born in Newark, NJ the son of Charles and Evelyn Morachnick on June 14, 1934. He served honorably in the US Army and later joined Murray Construction where he served as Vice President and Site Superintendent, retiring after 53 years of service. Burt had a long history of community service, serving as Mayor of Aberdeen, NJ for two terms and also as Captain of the Volunteer First Aid Squad. Burt is survived by his wife Harriet Morachnick (nee Zahn), daughters Tami and Traci, and son William Morachnick. He was beloved by his son-in-law Mark Greenberg and daughter-in-law Nikki Morachnick, as well as grandchildren Daniel, Matthew, Kate, Charli and Brett. Funeral services to be held on Sunday November 12th at Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapel at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
