David Lipton, 88, passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018. Born in London, England. He had a harrowing childhood during World War II, after which he immigrated to Canada and then to Brooklyn, N. Y., where he met and married his beloved wife, Judy. Years later, they moved to Toms River in the Lake Ridge community, which he so dearly loved.
David was a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan and retired as President of a large women’s clothing manufacturer.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy; and his daughters: Donna Lipton and her wife, Cathleen Hanville, and Stephanie Levine and her husband, Jeffrey Levine. He adored his granddaughter, Shelby Levine and grandson, Adam Levine.
An excellent sportsman and an avid skier, David took great pleasure in his hobby of trap shooting; so much so that he became the Trap Shooting Champion of Union County.
David was extremely proud of his service in the U.S. Marine Corp. and rarely took off his Marine Corp Veteran’s cap which the family named ‘The Golden Helmet’! Graveside services will be held privately under the direction of Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels. For Shiva details, please call the funeral home at 732-493-4343.
