

She was born and raised in the Bronx, graduating from Central Commercial High School in Manhattan. She lived in Ocean Township before moving to Neptune several years ago.
Elaine was the co-founder and President of Novelette Industries before her retirement. She started the company manufacturing garment hangers in 1964, and grew the company into a large importing business.
She was a member of Congregation Torat El in Oakhurst and a former Sisterhood President of Temple Beth Torah. Elaine was an avid reader, belonging to several book clubs. She loved playing mahjong with friends and enjoyed travelling, especially spending Februaries in Puerto Rico and yearly trips to Las Vegas.
She was a much loved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and friend. Elaine was predeceased by her parents, Herbert and Pauline Vos. Surviving is her husband, Joseph, of 60 years. She is also survived by her son Charles, daughter and son-in-law Gayle and Reza Ardakanian, sister Marilyn Mandel, and her three grandchildren, Matthew, Adam, and Jordan Ardakanian.
Services will be held at Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels in Ocean Township on Tuesday at 9 am. Shiva will be observed Saturday and Sunday at 7:15 pm at the home of Joseph Cooper.
