

Herbert B. Levine, 88, formerly of Belmar, died January 9 in Silver Spring, MD. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, but spent most of his childhood in Brooklyn, NY. Herb was a veteran of World War II. He was a life member of the Jewish War Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Herb was a leading salesman for Majestic Wine and Spirits from Pennsauken, NJ. He retired to Tucson, AZ in 1992 and then moved to Silver Spring MD in 2005. While living in Tucson he was the commander of Post 201 of the JWV for 4 years. Herb was known for having a great sense of humor and always smiling. Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Norma Levy Levine; a son, Alan Levine (Jennifer) of Charlottesville, VA; and a daughter, Ann Gang (Stephen) of Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren Charles Gang (Rachel) of Silver Spring, MD, Jenna Gang of New York, NY and Natasha Levine of Charlottesville, VA. Herb's sister, Bette Rosen, predeceased him.
Graveside services will be held Friday 1pm at Congregation Agudath Achim Cemetery, Neptune, NJ.
