

He was married for 66 years to his wife, Shirley who predeceased him.
Irving grew up in New York City and lived most of his life in West Long Branch where he raised his family. After being in the Navy during WWII, he went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering from City College of New York and a Master’s Degree in Engineering from Rutgers. In 1983, after working 30 years at Fort Monmouth, he retired as Director of Communications Directorate. After retiring from Fort Monmouth, combining his love of engineering and Israel, he worked as a consultant for Tadiran.
Irving enjoyed travelling with his wife Shirley, friends, and family. He also enjoyed gardening, bocce, and playing bridge.
In addition to his wife Shirley, he is predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Epstein (Hyman), Beatrice Zwisohn (Seymour), and Elaine Stiftel (Joseph), and his grandson Daniel Kullback.
He is survived by his children Richard Kullback (Debbie), Janice Wittmershaus (Bruce), Shari Canell (Bruce), his grandchildren Josh Wittmershaus, Brett Wittmershaus (Julie), Brian Canell (Amanda), and Lindsay Milstein (Craig).
The funeral service will be private. Donations can be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association.
