

Isabel Barr Pincus ( 91) passed away April 14th, 2015 at home. She was born in Kenosha , WI, daughter of Harry & Zena ( Gasul) Barr. She always liked working in her parent’s retail furniture store where “She loved to sell and help people”. After graduating Tobe Coburn School for Merchandising in NYC, Isabel moved to Chicago to work, there she met her husband, Monroe S. Pincus, a WW II Serviceman. They married in 1945 and after his discharge from the Navy, Isabel & Monroe settled in Kenosha where their children James and Marian were born. In 1955, the family relocated to Monroe’s native New Jersey. They opened Jamian Inc on Norwood Ave in Deal. Originally a furniture store, Jamian evolved, after Monroe’s death in 1969, into Gift and Home Accessories store, well known for its hospitality and personal service. Isabel was known as “Mrs. Jamian, the gift diagnostician”.
Isabel was an avid lifelong bridge player, life member of Hadassah, and a 60 year member of Temple Beth Miriam in Elberon. In 1988, after her retirement, she served on the Board of Directors of SCORE (Senior Corps of Retired Executives). She loved helping and advising small business owners.
Isabel was predeceased by her parents, husband, and sister, Frances Jacobson Stein. She is survived by her beloved children and their spouses: Jim & Suzanne Pincus ( Tinton Falls), Marian & Bill Warshauer ( West Long Branch), Her Grandchildren Stuart & Matthew Warshauer, David Garbeil and Michelle Ippolito, and 4 great-grandchildren. Special thank you to her caregiver, Annette Ramsey, and the Barnabas Hospice Staff, (especially her nurse, Lynne Hayes and Monique Michel) for their wonderful care this past year.
Services will be held at 2pm on April 15th, 2015 at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Funeral Chapels, Ocean. Internment following at Temple Beth Miriam Cemetery, West Bangs Ave, Neptune.
