

The youngest of 9 children of Morris and Yetta Weinstein, he was born in and a lifelong resident of Long Branch. His family ,as a child , owned a summer boarding house on Cooper Avenue
A graduate of Long Branch High School. He and his late wife, Bunny, owned Louis J. Weinstein Carpet and Flooring, Little Silver, for over 40 years.
Mr. Weinstein was a World War II Army veteran, and received 5 battle stars. He landed on Omaha Beach with his unit, 502d Light Ponton Engineers. He belonged to Jersey Shore Post #125, Jewish War Veterans.
He was a founding member of Congregation Brothers of Israel.
An excellent golfer, he was an avid sports fan who bowled in the Thursday Night Carl Cohen Y League for over 50 years. He was a horse racing enthusiast, and a regular at Monmouth park Racetrack. Mr. Weinstein was also a member of the Old Guard.
Mr. Weinstein was predeceased by his wife Bunny, who passed away in 2011. Surviving are his children: Jodi Shweky and her husband Richard, Martin Weinstein and Ronald Weinstein and his wife Daniela; 9 grandchildren: Mark Weinstein, Brian Johnson and his wife Jamie, Candice Safdieh and her husband Bobby, Jake Shweky and his wife Shirley, Mariel Kaplan and her husband Zack, Max Shweky, and Gabriela and Elena Weinstein, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 25 at 11 AM at Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapels, 2130 Route 35, Ocean, followed by interment at Brothers of Israel Cemetery.
