

Born in Breslau, Germany, on June 7, 1917, she moved to Lakewood in 1955. She was a dancer in Europe during World War II. Mrs. Silver began to teach dance in the US when she immigrated here, and opened her own dance studio in her home in Lakewood in 1956. Eventually she opened the Lakewood School of Dance and Theatre Arts, Lakewood, which she actively operated until she was 89. Mrs. Silver’s daughter, Angela Corenblith, now runs the school, which held its 56th annual recital on June 10, 2012.
Mrs. Silver was a member of Temple Beth Am Shalom, Lakewood.
She was predeceased by her husband, Geoffrey. Surviving are her daughters Bernice Ippolito of Florida and Angela Corenblith and her husband Barry of Lakewood; 6 grandchildren: Cheri Haines, Edward Ippolito, Karin Ippolito, Erica Santucci, Jennifer Corenblith and Ilana Corenblith; and five great-grandchildren: Jeffrey, Briana, Taylor, Kyle, and Kailiegh. She is also survived by step-grandchildren Joseph Ippolito (and his children Lea and Luke) and Angel Freudberg (and her children Jacob and Justin).
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 11 at 2:00 PM at Temple Beth Am Shalom, 1235 Route 70, Lakewood, followed by burial at Beth Olam Memorial Park, Lakewood. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marianne Silver Memorial Dance Scholarship.
