Miguel Angel Alvarez

Miguel was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend. For 32 years, he shared an extraordinary life and love with his wife, Kimberly Marie Alvarez (Cassone). Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, art, and deep connection. Their love was a quiet but powerful force; steady, soulful, and true. It was the kind of love Stevie Wonder once described as “a ribbon in the sky”.

To their daughters, Angela Marie and Natalie Marie, Miguel was not only “Papa,” but also their biggest fan, teacher, and gentle guide. He nurtured their talents, passed on his love of the arts, and filled their lives with creativity, curiosity, and boundless love. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Milky Way and Galaxy, who were faithfully by his side.

Born on February 5, 1973, Miguel grew up in Barnegat, NJ, and graduated from Southern Regional High School. He went on to study Architecture from the prestigious Pratt Institute, and never stopped learning, from art and culture to theology and technology. An artist in his own right, Miguel saw the world with wonder and translated that vision into every facet of his life.

He is survived by his parents, Ricaurte and Angela Alvarez of Barnegat, his sister Julianna Alvarez of Maplewood, and a wide circle of lifelong friends and extended family who cherished his gentle heart, brilliant mind, and quiet strength.

Miguel had a nurturing soul, always extending himself to care for others, whether helping his parents, supporting a friend in need, or lifting up his daughters with patient wisdom. To know Miguel was to feel safe, seen, and deeply loved.

“Though our time together was cut short, the bond we shared was timeless and unbreakable. Somewhere, in some other world or time, our souls will reunite in a place where we can continue the journey we began. Until then, I will carry your memory with me; in every sunset, in every gentle breeze.”

Miguel’s legacy lives on in the love he gave so freely, in the family he adored, and in the beauty, he saw and created in the world. His was a life full of purpose, compassion, and grace.
