

He was born in Monongahela, PA and grew up in Newark, NJ, where he met and married his wife, Mildred. He attended the University of Kansas before being called to serve in the Army in WWII. He and his wife raised their family in Union, NJ before retiring to Brick. Mr Sklar worked as a bookkeeper for J&J Distributors in Millburn, NJ for most of his career. He loved his family, bowling, the Yankees, NY Giants, and had a keen interest in Nasa’s space program, and in his later years, he was active in the Lions Head South Community where he and his wife lived.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred Sklar, his two children; Howard Sklar and his wife Valerie, of Port St. Lucie, FL, and his daughter Barbara Campbell and her husband Bill, of Harvard, MA, and two grandchildren; Sheri Minholz and her husband Gregory and Stephanie Cava. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Cooper, of Springfield, NJ.
A chapel service will be held at 10am on Friday June 14th at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Lakewood. Interment will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.woundedwarriorproject.org
