Rhoda enjoyed a long and full life as well as a storied career that included running the family liquor store, working in a radio station, cutting diamonds, raising a family, and as a registrar and secretary at Poughkeepsie High School. She loved to travel and visited, among other places, Israel, Egypt, the former Czechoslovakia, Spain, China, Japan, Alaska and her life time vacation favorite--Cape Cod. In her later years she loved visiting the beach in Ocean Grove, NJ and was happiest having a slice or ice cream on the boardwalk.
Rhoda was born in Kingston, New York to Jacob and Sophia Mollott. Rhoda was predeceased by her parents and her husband Oscar Klein.
She is survived by her daughters Joyce Klein and Jane Klein Conklin (David Conklin) and the stars of her life, her two grandsons, J.J. Conklin and Zachary Conklin. Rhoda is also survived by several cousins and her dear friend Stephanie Floros.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Congregation Schomre Israel Cemetery, 67 LaGrange Avenue, Poughkeepsie, New York 12603 immediately followed by a burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Rhoda's memory may be made to the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater (clearwater.org) or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation (macular.org).
