Ronna Cooper, known as Joyce, 76, of Long Branch, New Jersey passed away on July 6, 2021. She is survived by son David, sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Fred, niece and nephew-in-law, Zoe and Ben, great-niece, Emilia, great-nephew, Alex, and well as many wonderful friends. Joyce was predeceased by her daughter, Laura, and her parents, Beverly and Irving.
Joyce loved all things New York. She dreamt of one day owning a weekend getaway in Manhattan, where she could peer over her book - a good British murder mystery - onto her private flower adorned balcony.
Joyce’s home was her castle. She proudly displayed her varying collections. The tour would start on the first floor, which housed her Stanhope and Howdy Doody collections. Floor two had even more, including her Hat Pin and Chalkwear galleries. The entire display was accented by antiques which tied it all together.
The love of travel and international foods fueled her. One less exotic delight of Joyce's was her passion for pizza. During the last couple years, Joyce and her son would travel around New Jersey to sample some of Jersey’s finest.
Lastly, Joyce was very proud of what she had accomplished both professionally, as an LTDC and ESL teacher in the Keansburg school district, but also personally. She loved and maintained many wonderful long-term friendships. Above all, she loved and supported her family and we loved her. She will be missed and always remembered.
A Celebration of Life for Ronna will be held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 2130 Highway #35, Ocean, New Jersey 07712 on Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The family requests that everyone in attendance please wear a mask.
Should you like to make a memorial contribution in Joyce’s name, please feel free to do so to your favorite charity.
