A son of Russian immigrants born on May 8, 1917, in New York, he graduated from CCNY and served in the U.S. Army as a Tech 4 with the 2nd Coast Artillery in Fort Monroe, VA. After leaving the military in 1944, he married Renee Joy Metlis on June 6, 1948.
Saul was an executive for several prominent NYC apparel companies, moved from Long Island to Matawan, N.J. in 1963; and to Lakewood in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion and Jewish War Veterans.
He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Renee. Surviving are sons Richard, Michael and Jeffrey; daughters-in-law Jenny Kellner and Deborah Byers; and grandchildren David, Adrienne, Erica, Emily and Joseph. Funeral service is Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapel at 1300 Vermont Ave in Lakewood.
