Stanley Robert Engel of Long Branch, New Jersey passed away at Riverview Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, September 26, 2022. He was born in the Pelham Parkway area of the Bronx.
Stanley was a graduate of Long Branch High School and University of Miami. He and his wife Ruth, were married over 50 years and raised their family in West Long Branch, NJ. Stanley was a dedicated employee of T. Frank Appleby Agency, Ocean, NJ, till he retired in 1989. He won many awards as a top real estate producer in Monmouth County. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, where he was an accomplished photographer. Later in life, being a proud member of the Jewish War Veterans Post 125. He gave his time tirelessly as a volunteer for the Association of Monmouth County Children with Learning Disabilities. Stanley loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and newly born great grandson. He had a deep passion for cooking, restaurants, traveling the world, the New York Yankees and Giants, classical music and Broadway. We would be remiss if we didn't mention he hit two hole in ones in his life time and was the President's Club Champion twice at Woodlake Country Club. Upon retirement, Stanley became a Monmouth County Appraiser where he was an expert in condemnation hearings.
Following his wife, Ruth's passing, Stanley spent the past 13 years with his partner, Sandi Guberman. Surviving are his two devoted children, Susan Bloom and her husband, Henry: Kenneth Engel and his wife Allison, three loving grandchildren, Jacqueline (and her husband, Barry), Sydney, and Michael; and one adoring great grandson, Charlie Maxwell.
