

Carrie Marie Cook Williams, 95, passed away Saturday May 21, 2016 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Born November 17, 1920 in Pineville, she was the daughter of the late A. Elmer Cook and Addie Stewart Cook- Blankenship.
Carrie was a member of the New Life Victory Center. She loved spending time with children and watching them grow up. Carrie was an avid gardener.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, French “Chubby” Williams; and her twin daughters, Addie Glea, who passed away at the age of two, and Alice Marie Marcum ; five brothers, Freelin, Forest, Harley, Byron Edsel, and William “Bill” Cook and three sisters Maxine Lester, Glenna Hardy and Mary Iva Lester.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two granddaughters, Trena Marcum Brotherton and her husband Michael of China Grove, NC and Cindie Marcum Rose and her husband, Corbett of Statesville, NC and and ; two great grandchildren, Derek Corbett Rose and his wife, Jessie and Hanna Michele Brotherton; one great great grandson, Cadin Corbett Rose and her son in law, Lonnie Marcum; one brother, Alfred Cook and his wife Ann of Rock View; one sister, Juanita Barker of VA. And a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday May 24, 2016 at the Evans Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dewight Stafford and Earl Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny. Friends may gather with the family from noon until time of service.
