Charles "Charlie" Dixon

He often quoted this verse: There is an appointed time for everything, and a time for every affair under the heavens. A time to be born and a time to die. (Ecclesiastes 3:1, 2).

December 20, 2015 was his appointed time.

Born in McDowell County, WV on May 24, 1935, Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Dixon, of Oceana.

He had a strong work ethic and was the founder of Dixon’s Auto Service in Matheny.

Charles was a wise, honest man, with great integrity. He enjoyed Sunday family gatherings, sitting around the table sharing his long, funny stories, especially about his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved his family and was very proud of them.

Those left to cherish his memory are his immediate family, including his loving wife of sixty two years, Patsy Ann Dixon and their three children: Debi Tate and husband, Dillard of Oceana, Sandy Francis and husband, Mike of Bolt, and Charles “Randy” Dixon and wife, Carol of Matheny.

He is also survived by his seven grandchildren: Jennifer Bradford, Kelly Laxton, Tara Crews, Tiffany Miller, Brad Dixon, Brittany Dixon and Corey Dixon and fifteen great-grandchildren: Rachel Goode, Hannah Bradford, Hailey Miller, Allison Bradford, Connor “Punkie Pie” Bradford, Abby Crews, Caden Bradford, Isiah Bradford, Ava Laxton, Isabella Bradford, Carlie Crews, Charlie Dixon, Erin Laxton, Gavin Crews and Vance Dixon.
