A. D. Medlock

A. D. Medlock was born September 21, 1930 in Groesbeck, Texas to Reed Medlock and Elnora Archie. A. D. moved to Odessa at an early age and was educated in the Ector County Independent School District.

He united in God with Johnson Chapel United Methodist Episcopal Church under the leadership of the Rev. E. G. Gates. He later united with the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where he was faithful until his illness prevented him from attending regularly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, father, Reed; mother, Elnora; step-father, Colonus SR; daughter, Vanessa; brothers, May, Arvin D., and Columbus, and sister, Maxine.

Those left to cherish his memory, his children, Debra Pride (Bob), Veretta Garcia (Antonio), of Odessa and Ray Medlock (Val), of Buffalo Gap; sister, Joyce M. Thomas of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother, Colonus Roberson JR, of Odessa, aunt, Edna Fields of Odessa; uncle, Babe Ruth Archie, of Odessa, (10) grandchildren, (11) great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and all of his family at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Odel Crawford officiating.

Interment will follow at the Ector County Cemetery, Los Angeles section.

Pallbearers will be Kristopher L. Pride, Joseph Armendariez, Sir Anthony Wright, Antonio Garcia, Donald Harris and Dickie Worley.
