Alfredo Garcia Chavez

Alfredo Chavez, 53, of Odessa passed away Monday, August 23, 2010 at his residence after a courageous battle with A.L.S.. He was born April 19, 1957 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jesus & Leonila Chavez. He married Rosa Isela Lujan April 28, 1978 in Odessa. He was a master electrician, custom home builder and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Rosa Isela Lujan Chavez of Odessa, sons, Alfredo O. Chavez Jr & wife Jessica of Arlington, TX, Edward Lujan & Partner Tracy Collins of Katy, TX, daughter, Laiza K. Chavez of Odessa, brothers, Jesus J. Chavez & wife Genoveva of Presidio, Alfonzo Chavez of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico & Ismael Chavez of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, sisters, Maria M. Bejarano & husband Javier of Odessa, Lydia Chavez de Burrola & husband Jesus of Cd Delicias Chihuahua, Mexico, Rosario Chavez of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico and grandson, Gaael A. Chavez.

Pallbearers will be Edward Lujan, Alfredo Chavez, Jr, Javier Bejarano, Jr, David Sanchez.

Rosary will be said at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Arturo Pestin officiating. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery.
