The family will receive friends 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home Friday, January 29, 2016.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Beacon Baptist Church 2119 N.

Grandview Ave with Rev. Monty Hilliard and Dr Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Amon was born in Wooster, Arkansas to Alby and Edna Williams Langston November 4, 1927. He attended and graduated from Central High School in Cape Girardeau, MO. He married Martha Ann Stanley on August 26, 1951 at Second Baptist Church in Malvern, AR. He graduated from Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock, AR.

He pastored churches in Arkansas, Seminole, Texas and West 34th ST (Westwood Baptist Church in Odessa, Texas.)

He led in the organization of Beacon Baptist Church in May of 1959 He became Pastor Emeritus on January 2, 2010

being honored for 51 years of service as pastor. He was Moderator and Clerk for the West Texas New Mexico Association,

now known as Southwest Association of Missionary Baptist Church.

He worked as an AC Technician for Atmos Natural Gas for 30 years. He was a 32nd Mason with Lodge 955

and Scottish Rite of El Paso, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alby and Edna Langston, brothers, John Langston and Ray Langston

and one sister Ila Pearl Morgan; grandson Matthew Langston.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Martha Langston, twin sons, Dean Langston and wife Carolyn of Odessa, Texas

and Gene Langston and wife Debbie of Weatherford, Texas. One brother Ozrow Langston and wife Doris of Aurora, Il, 4 grandchildren,

11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to Beacon Baptist Church 2119 N Grandview Ave, Odessa, Texas for building fund.
