Barbara Jean Nichols

Barbara Jean Russell-Nichols, 65, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born February 22, 1946 in Falfurrias, TX to Edward Eugene & Betty Marie (Luck) Akins.

She married James Amerson Russell in June 1964. They were married 26 years until his passing in 1990. She later married Stephen Michael Nichols February 22, 1992 in Odessa. She was a member of Odessa Christian Faith Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her 1st husband, James Amerson Russell.

She is survived by her husband Stephen Nichols of Odessa, son, James Amerson Russell, Jr & wife Lisa of Odessa, daughter, Melissa Leigh Bradshaw & husband Alan of Odessa, brothers, Eddie Akins of Houston, Robert Akins of San Antonio, Jimmy Akins of Bandera, TX, sisters, Candy Mitchell of Kermit, Deborah Johnson of Eight-Mile, AL, Patsy Gonzalez of Kermit, (2) grandchildren, Jacquelyn Bradshaw & Ana Russell.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2011 at Odessa Christian Faith Center, 8860 Andrews Hwy, Odessa, TX, with Rev. Don Caywood officiating.

Memorials may be made to Home Hospice.
