Basilisa R. Tercero

Basilisa R. Tercero, 84, of Hurst, Texas, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 in Bedford at Harris Methodist Hospital from recent complications with cancer. She was born October 1, 1931 in Ojinaga, Mexico to Maria De Jesus Leyva and Eulogio R. Rodriguez. She was a longtime resident of Balmorhea, and Odessa before moving with her son Carlos to Hurst. She was married to Frank Tercero on September 22, 1958. She was passionate about playing bingo and attending St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. Her bingo and church friends were like her second family. She was a very special person who knew no strangers. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Lucille Longoria, and Angelica Dutchover, and brother, Arnulfo Rodriguez Sr. Survivors include her son, Frank Tercero Jr., daughter-in-law, Aurora Tercero, daughters, Teresa Fierro & husband Juan, and Lily Tercero, son, Carlos Tercero, grandchildren, Katherine Bratton and Eric Fierro, great-grandson, Lucas Bratton, sisters, Manuela Morones, and Maria Ellena Anaya. Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm Friday, August 12, 2016 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Mass is scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, August 13, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Hilary Ihedioha officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
